TIG/m. It's time to start rolling!
The first two animations below were done by a local high school senior, now graduate, Gray Jameson. The third video is of a working tram.

The Santa Cruz Branch Rail line remains active and with minor work and inspections we could begin operating demonstration rail transit services.
TIG/m is a manufacturer of self-powered trams and historic trolleys based in Chatsworth, Ca. The company has expressed interest in bringing a self-propelled hydrogen fuel streetcar to Santa Cruz for a public demonstration service. They can bring a vehicle and it's hydrogen generation and fueling module in by trailer.
Coastal Rail Santa Cruz was contacted over a year ago by this company requesting assistance in connecting with the RTC but too many things were uncertain, including the contract with Progressive Rail and then the Unified Corridors Investment Study and more.
By March 2019 it seemed like the time might be right to begin planning their presentation to our community. We visited their plant on April 22 and enjoyed a 4 hour tour provided by company president, Brad Reed.
On May 29, local representative Mark Johannessen provided a presentation to Guy Preston, Luis Mendez, and Ginger Dykaar at the Regional Transportation Commission. They expressed interest in having TIG/m have a spot on the June 27 agenda but it didn't work out. Finally, in September, TIG/m was able to present to the RTC and their presentation was well received!
